About Kootenay Canitizers

Kootenay Canitizers is a new professional trash can cleaning service created by friends and associates, Andy Bellerby and Ric Behan.  The last year has been a task of establishing a professional, incorporated business and creating an exceptional sanitizing service, now ready to launch in the Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford areas.

Andy & Ric grew up in the UK and moved to British Columbia over 10 years ago. During their time in the UK, wheeled trash cans were introduced sometime in the 90s. The drawbacks of dirty trash cans were quickly recognized, and independant sanitizing specialists were successfully implemented and continue to work hard to date.

In Fernie, the introduction of wheeled garbage cans has caused issues, such as unsanitary garbage cans that not only harbor harmful bacteria, but have been regularly attracting unwanted wildlife attention.

Cleaning of garbage cans by the homeowner can cause harmful waste products to be left on the ground and washed into local water systems. Andy & Ric have built a curbside cleaning truck to fully contain all harmful effluents to be disposed of safely and effectively.

Although garbage can cleaning is not the most glamorous profession, Ric and Andy couldn't sit back knowing they had the solution to an ever growing problem. They are excited to deliver a professional service that will assist in reducing harmful bacteria and provide effective wildlife deterrent measures for the Elk Valley.

With your help, they are pleased to help keep garbage and compost cans in a clean and sanitary condition for health and hygiene purposes, and to reduce the increasing number of unnecessary wildlife interactions.
